Our Vineyard
Where do our grapes come from?
The vineyard benefits from a Terroir characterized by granitic soils, abundant groundwater, Mediterranean climate, at an altitude of 240 meters and 72 kilometers from the Atlantic.
The new plantation included the Portuguese red varieties: Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouchet, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Caiada and a small plot of 1 hectare with the French red variety: Cabernet Souvignon.
Later, in 2013, the Tinta Caiada plot was grafted with Portuguese white varieties: Arinto and Verdelho dos Açores.
The vineyard begins to produce in 2002 and in 2003 the first wine is bottled: Quinta da Amoreira da Torre Tinto Reserva.
In 2005, against the trend of the sector, the strategic decision was taken to convert the entire vineyard and wine to the Organic Production Mode, having been the first vineyard in Alentejo to certify organic Alentejo wines in the CVRA.
In 2021 we joined the Alentejo Wines Sustainability Program.
All Amoreira da Torre wines are certified as Organic and Vegan Wines.
